Autumn is here, bringing a whirlwind of activity for PR agencies!
With major campaigns kicking off from September to November and a host of industry and client events leading up to Christmas, our team is definitely in high gear. The days can feel hectic, especially for consultants adjusting to the fast pace. Fortunately, there are plenty of digital tools out there to help us with organization and productivity. The Fabriq team is excited to share their favorites with you:
Digital Monitoring Tools
Using tools like Google Alerts or personalized smart newsletters like Kantar or Flint, our team stays on top of the latest information and trends in our areas of expertise. This allows us to react quickly to opportunities and adjust our communication strategies to ensure timely and relevant information.
“Monitoring tools make my daily tasks easier by streamlining article searches and allowing me to gather all the relevant publications into one email, just like a press review.” Ondine Murat, Senior Press Officer
ChatGPT/Gemini
Do we really need to say more? Every day, our team uses AI-powered virtual assistants to help with a range of tasks. Whether it’s creating market summaries, digging into trending topics, conducting SWOT analyses of companies, or finding inspiration for our content, these tools make our work easier and more efficient.
“Since its public launch in 2022, ChatGPT has quickly become my favorite productivity tool. It helps me save time on tedious tasks and allows me to focus on analysis and strategy.” Nazim Damardji, Managing Director of Fabriq
Slack
A must-have for connecting with each other and our clients! Since its launch in 2015, our teams have embraced it with open arms. It’s not just a tool for getting work done; it’s also our go-to platform for sharing tips, celebrating wins, and cracking jokes, whether our colleagues are in the office or working from home!
Online Text-to-Speech Tools
Recently, some team members have been exploring online text-to-speech apps that save time on reading and rereading different texts! In the spirit of an audiobook, these tools transform text into audio, making it easier to correct and review certain documents. We haven't found our favorite platform yet, so if you have any recommendations, we're all ears!
The Pomodoro Tracker
The Pomodoro technique involves working for a limited amount of time interspersed with breaks. The principle: take short, regular breaks to improve concentration. In addition to increasing productivity, it allows for more concrete time estimates and boosts team productivity.
Note-Taking Tools
For note-taking, habits vary depending on our team members' preferences. Some prefer the note-taking applications provided by default on their computers, some are avid users of Notion, the all-in-one workspace (on which this post was written!).
“Notion has been my organizational tool for several years now. I use it every day for work and personal projects!” Anastasia Witt, Marketing and Special Projects Manager
Despite the abundance of existing digital tools, some team members still prefer traditional notebooks, pens, highlighters, post-its, and even loose sheets of paper. Be it a familiar practice, a memory aid, or the simple pleasure of crossing things off a list.
“Out of habit, I prefer to continue using notebooks to take notes during client meetings and interviews with journalists! These little notebooks remind me of the start of the school year.” Muriel Martin, Client Director
And there you have it, now you know (almost) all our professional secrets!
From monitoring to internal communication, customer relations, and content creation, all these tools have greatly improved our quality of work life and team collaboration!
How about you? What productivity hacks do you swear by?
